The Fruit

Sage Narada once gave a fruit to Lord Shankara
Who was with his consort Parvathi
Shiva commanded to his two children sitting by his side
That fruit will go to one who around the world
will have the fastest ride
Elephant-king circumbulated his divine parents
Skanda ascended peacock and went round places
Elephant-king got the fruit but Muruga got angry after his circuit
But to show that parents are god this was the wisest route

We will have the chariot-festival of Lord Subramanya
People throng in thousands on that day to see Lord Subramanya
sitting in the chariot pulled by devotees here comes Lord Subramanya
A bath in Kumaradhara,seeing Lord Kumara
Seeing Adi Subramanya saluting with perfect vinaya
Pulling the chariot,seeing the sevas,quiet
Taking prasadam and hum OLord 'Subramanya
There is nothing he doesn't know
For anything he doesn't say "no"
With pure -heart like white-snow
if you pray,"his grace" you will know
